Eyelet Red Set

TOP: Asos│SKIRT: Asos │SHOES: Schutz │BAG: ModCloth (sold out) Similar Here│BRACELETS: David Yurman

How fun is this set y’all? Makes me want to twirl around with a margarita. But, that might be because I wore it to eat Mexican last night and it looked fantastic with a margarita in hand. To be honest, margaritas make any outfit look better in my expert opinion ;)! I had THE crappiest day I’ve had in a long time yesterday. My car was towed from my own apartment complex and I shattered the screen on my iPhone. It’s safe to say I needed a margarita or maybe 5 yesterday. BUT, isn’t it crazy how  a cute outfit can seriously change your mood?

I love anything eyelet. So combine a matching set and eyelet and I’m all in. It’s just so feminine.. I also think this skirt will look great for work with a button down and nude pumps. Would you guys want me to do some posts where I style the same pieces for work and play? Let me know.

I am leaving for somewhere fun tonight! Yay for long weekends and warmer weather. Stay tuned to find out where!

Pink Florals

DRESS: Yumi Kim │SHOES: Schutz

Florals? for spring? Ground breaking. LOL hopefully you know what movie I’m quoting because it’s one of my all time favorites. But, truth be told, I would absolutely kill for Andy’s job in that movie. Anna Wintour – if you’re reading this call me 🙂 Side Note: anyone else hearing the rumors that the high priestess of Vogue will be on her way out come September?? Shocking news in the fashion world.

Anyways, back to the reason you stopped by this little blog – My dress. I wore this dress for Easter and got so many compliments y’all. I love, love, love it. It’s so feminine and flirty, it needs to be in your closet. The tie waist is super flattering.  It’s on the longer side (I’m 5’6 for those who have asked), so I wouldn’t plan to wear it with sandals. This dress would be so perfect to wear to a spring wedding. Stay tuned for an entire post dedicated to how to dress for wedding season. Anyone else already have 5+ weddings to attend this summer?

Hope you love this dress as much as I do!

Best Jean Shorts

SHORTS: TopShop │ TOP: Bailey 44 │SHOES: Stuart Weitzman (old) Similar Here│BELT: Gucci │BAG: Louis Vuitton │SUNNIES: Ray Ban │WATCH: Michele

Happy Monday! Anyone else seriously dragging after the long weekend? I wore this outfit over the weekend and I had to share how obsessed I am with these shorts. They are a serious game changer. I hate shopping for jean shorts, which is saying a lot because I love to shop. Jean shorts can be so frustrating. They are either way too short (hi, those are my butt cheeks) or they are way too low rise (hello, muffin top). Maybe I’m just really picky, but I struggle with jean shorts. Enter Topshop’s new denim line. In the fall, Topshop’s jeans were selling out as soon as they hit the website. So, I wondered if their shorts would be just as flattering. So, in true Heather fasion, I ordered about 7 pairs. Spoiler Alert: I loved them all. Gonna link some of my other favorites Here and Here. Yall, they are flattering, on trend and $60 bucks. Go scoop them up because they keep selling out.

My top is more on the expensive side, but I get SO much use out of it. It looks cute at work with pants and on the weekend with shorts or jeans. It’s a staple top that I will wear all spring/summer long.

I hope you guys had the best Easter weekend. We are heading somewhere fun this weekend. Stay tuned to find out where. So many fun trips in April and May!

Blazer Style

BLAZER: Zara │JEANS: Zara │SHOES: Schutz │BAG: Gucci │SUNNIES: Ray Ban │BRACELET: David Yurman

Happy long weekend everyone! I’m heading down to Florida to visit my parents and see my step-dog children ;). Wish Max and I luck on our seven hour car ride. Head over to my insta-stories for some beach fun.

Slightly obsessed with this blazer. I love a good blazer moment. How cute would this be with a white eyelet dress or skirt? It’s over sized so size down (wearing an XS). It’s also perfect for work and can easily be dressed down for play.

Like I said before, I don’t wear jeans very often (you’re probably rolling your eyes and saying c’mon Heather in you’re last three posts you’ve worn jeans). Blame it on NC’s refusal to participate in Spring. I’ve been crushing hard on lighter washed ripped denim. But, I don’t love to spend $$$ on denim I know won’t be “in” forever. I never recommend spending tons of money on trendy pieces. Save your money for pieces that will be in your closet for forever. So, these jeans are trendy and cost effective ($50). I’m only a little bit obsessed with them. They are a mid rise fit and are TTS.

Hope everyone has the best Easter! Questions? I’d love to hear from you.

Spring Midi Dress

DRESS: Mara Hoffman │BELT: Gucci │SHOES: Steve Madden │SUNNIES: Karen Walker │WATCH: Michele │BRACELETS: David Yurman

Serious, serious spring feels in this Mara Hoffman dress. Mara Hoffman’s ready to wear collection is so bright and fun. I want it all. Go check it out here. Seriously, how fun is this bathing suit? I’m pretty sure I need it. There are also some great wear to work options like these pants. I’m telling you she can really do no wrong in my eyes.

I have to tell you guys how comfortable these shoes are. I think I’ve worn them everyday since I got them two weeks ago. I even decided to be brave and wore them to work. That’s how comfortable they are. More to come on how to style open toed shoes for work.

I waited and waited and waited for this belt to be restocked. When it finally was a few weeks ago, I seriously couldn’t wait for it be shipped. I recommend sizing down if you want to wear it solely as a waist belt. I’m generally a size 2/4 and I ordered the 34 and it can be worn at my hips and waist.

Questions? I’d love to hear from you!

Gingham Wrap Shirt

TOP: Habitual and Here (in more sizes)│JEANS: J crew (old) Similar Here and Here │SHOES: Aldo│ SUNNIES: Karen Walker │WATCH: Michele │BRACELETS: David Yurman

Happy Friday! Is it just me or has this week has seemed like the longest week ever? Super looking forward to this weekend. We are heading to one of my favorite Raleigh restaurants, Angus Barn, for a friend’s birthday tonight. Head over to my insta-stories for some seriously delicious pictures ;). Beyond having stellar food, Angus Barn is beautifully decorated and hosts many wedding receptions every year.

How precious is this top y’all? I was trying to break up my gingham posts, but this guy is selling out fast so I wanted to get it up pronto. It wraps around, which makes it super flattering. It also comes in two other colors, red and white, which are fully in stock.

Flares are my jam y’all. When I am in jeans, which isn’t often, 99% of the time they’re high-waisted flares.  They make your legs look nice and long which has a slimming effect. Darker washes always have a more slimming effect. These guys are more of a medium wash. The jeans pictured are old, but I linked two of my favorite dark wash flares.

Hope ya’ll have the best weekend!!

Pink Gingham

TOP: Express │JEANS: A&E │ SHOES: Schutz│BAG: Banana Republic│SUNNIES: Karen Walker │ WATCH: Michele │BRACELETS: David Yurman

Guys, I’m thinking maybe I should join plaid lovers anonymous? Anyone know if that’s a thing? Here’s to hoping ya’ll aren’t sick of it because it’s my jam. This outfit screams spring to me. Technically, yesterday was the first day of spring. But, I’m not sure Raleigh got the memo. Snow was falling when I left for work this morning. So, I’ll just keep posting my favorite spring pieces until Raleigh figures out that it’s Spring. This is the perfect outfit for those days when the sun is shining and it’s beautiful out, but still in the 50’s and 60’s. This shirt is super comfy and perfect for work and play. I wore it to work last week with blue pants and got tons of compliments.

My jeans are SO comfortable. I love the wash and the distressing. They’re high-waisted and super flattering. Did I mention they’re $60 bucks? Affordable, on trend and flattering? Doesn’t get much better than that. I really don’t wear jeans that often. I’m way more attracted to feminine dresses and skirts. So, if I like a pair of jeans, you can trust that they’re really good.

Questions or Comments? I’d love to hear them!

Matchy Set

TOP: Forever 21 │SKIRT: Forever 21 SHOES: Schutz │ BAG: Modcloth │WATCH: Michele │BRACELETS: David Yurman

Happy Monday, y’all! I feel like I am still recovering from all the fun from St. Patrick’s Day weekend. We started off the holiday at the parade downtown. Raleigh graced us with a little bit of warmer weather and it was much appreciated. I really feel like the parade was actually a dog parade and not a St. Patrick’s day parade. Endless baby animals all dressed in green and top hats. If that’s not your jam, I’m not really sure what is.

I wore this set over the weekend to brunch. For under $40, it doesn’t get much cuter than this. I said it before, but I’ll say it again – matching sets are here to stay. And I’m all in. No more matching your top and bottom, it’s done for you. I also think this skirt would be super work appropriate with a button down. My bag ($49.00) is a dupe of the Cult Gaia bags that you’re seeing everywhere.  I think the wicker/ bamboo bag trend is going to be really hot this spring and summer so I would grab at least one. This option is affordable and super roomy for endless lip gloss and other unnecessary items ;).

Questions? Let’s hear them!

Preppy Plaid

SKIRT: Zara│SHIRT: J Crew│BLAZER: Forever 21│SHOES: Sam Edelman│BAG: Chanel│WATCH: Michele│ BRACELETS: David Yurman│SUNNIES: Asos (sold out) Similar Here

This skirt is just the cutest y’all. I love structure, plaid, and blazers..  You’d think after 10 years in a uniform in Catholic school, I’d be sick of plaid. Well, I’m not. You see lots of plaid around Christmas, but I think there’s room in your life for year round plaid. Gingham or Madras in the summer, Tartan for fall and Hounds tooth for winter. This skirt has a good mix of gingham, tartan and window pane. If you’re reading along and I just spoke a different language – yes, those are all different types of plaid. And yes, there are many, many, many more different types of plaid.

My button down is actually a body suit and I HIGHLY recommend it. Ever have a hard time with your button down staying tucked in? Well this baby literally never comes untucked. It’s fabulous. I wear it to work and on the weekend all the time. My blazer is forever 21 and it’s a super stylish piece for work and play at a cost conscious price point.

Questions? Drop em below!

The Classic LBD

Dress: LuLu’s  │Shoes: Jessica Simpson similar Here and Here│ Watch: Michele │Bracelets: David Yurman

I love date night….. and rooftop bars….. and good wine….  BUT most of all, I love a good little black dress. A dress with the versatility to take you essentially anywhere. From date night to dinner parties, it’s a closet staple. I swear a good LBD has super powers. And for $36, it doesn’t get much better than this one. It also comes in several colors. Dress it up like I did with a neutral heel or dress it down with a denim jacket and some boots. I like having at least a few different long sleeve LBD’s to get me through the transition from winter to spring. My shoes are almost sold out so I’m linking a few similar pairs. I also rounded up some affordable LBDs below.

If you’re in Raleigh and you’re looking for a great date night spot, you have to check out Level 7. It’s in North Hills, on the 7th floor (get it?) of the Marriott AC Hotel. The view is great and the drinks are even better. On Thursday nights they have live music on the rooftop. We head over to have a drink before or after eating in North Hills..

Questions? Comments? I’d love to hear from you…
