Happy Thursday Babes! Anyone else having the longest week ever? Where everything that could go wrong just does?
I actually googled if we were in retrograde….
Bring on the weekend please.
I wear this look almost once a week. I love the way flares and a blazer look. So chic, easy, and put together.
I highly recommend investing in a few blazers. Easiest way to look almost instantly pulled together. I ALWAYS have my blazers tailored for that perfect fit. If you haven’t already, find a good tailor ASAP.
If you’re in the Raleigh area, email me and I’ll send you a few suggestions.

We had the best time in San Francisco over the weekend. It was my first time to San Fran and I was DYING to see the golden gate bridge. Spoiler alert: It did not disappoint.
More to come on our San Fran trip..
On our last day in San Francisco we drove out to Napa because hello, why not? I wore this $25 jumper and I am obsessed. How cute?!
Even after extensive googling, it was SO hard to decide which wineries / restaurants to check out. We ended up seeing two. I wished we had more time. You really need at least two days to see Napa. We are planning another trip to do Napa and Sonoma in one fatal sweep (will literally probably be fatal lol)
Auberge was my favorite of the places we visited. It’s actually not a winery, but the views from the restaurant are AMAZING. It is an absolutely beautiful 5 star resort and Michelin restaurant. They have wines from all around the region.
Munn was my jam y’all. All SPARKLING wines. So good. May or may not have bought several bottles of sparking rose to take home.
I can’t wait to share more of our trip with y’all!

Today is Max’s one year adoptaversary!! We had to document the occasion with picture torture. It just so happened the day we took these pictures it was windy, but hot. So trying to get Max to look at the camera when the balloon was in the perfect spot was serious work.
Max took off after a dog or squirrel more than once, which sent me sprinting down the street after him with a balloon in hand. I’m sure it was hilarious to watch.
I get a super surprising amount of DM’s on instagram about Max so I thought I’d fill y’all in on the Max scoop.
I actually got Max off of Craigslist. Yup, you read that right. He’s from Craigslist.
I always loved Westies and thought they were the cutest dogs. Anyone else love those dog food commercials with Westies? So, when I decided I wanted to finally get a dog of my own, I knew I either wanted a King Charles Cavalier or a Westie. I joined a few rescue groups, but nothing was available near me. As I was googling the breed, a Craigslist ad popped up.
That was Max. A couple in the Raleigh area got Max from a breeder and couldn’t keep up with him. They had three kids under 3, which is a feat in itself. Adding a puppy into the mix just wasn’t working. I went and saw Max that day and instantly fell in love. He ran right up to me and peed on my feet.
We’ve been inseparable ever since.
Max facts you might not know:
- Max is a West Highland Terrier.
- He weighs about 15 pounds and is full grown.
- His favorite, favorite food is cheetos. He will serious harrass you for some cheetos.
- Since were talking about food, this dog will literally eat anything – lettuce, kale, avocado. Anything I am eating, he will eat.
- He is my constant shadow. Have you ever heard the term velcro dog? Well, that is Max. He wants to go where mom goes.
- He has more energy than any other dog I’ve owned. I thought when I got him that he’d be this cute lap dog and boy, was I wrong. He is constantly moving.
- He loves to tear up my favorite things. It’s seriously like he knows that I really like something. The list of things he’s torn up is long and vast: underwear, shoes, makeup brushes, sunglasses… RIP
- Max is also hands down the friendliest dog I’ve ever owned as well. He does not know a stranger. He wants to be every person and every dog’s best friend.
- He absolutely loves to be chased. It’s his favorite game and he could play for hours.
- He will literally let me dress him up in anything. He’s the best costume dog ever.
Max isn’t perfect, but neither am I. He is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, so we had to celebrate him today. Head over to my insta story to see some super cute throwback pics to when Max was a baby.

Happy Tuesday friends! I can’t believe the 4th of July is tomorrow. This summer is flying by.
The fourth has always been one of my favorite holidays.
Cook outs, family, and fireworks.. Could there be a better summer holiday? I am a little bummed it falls on a Wednesday this year. Kind of hard to make plans without taking time off of work.
Anyways, I love this festive dress. Who says you have to wear red or blue on the Fourth?
&& this dress is only $24 bucks.
I hope you guys have the best fourth. I’ll be eating too many hot dogs and shooting off all the fireworks!

Happy Friday babes! Beyond happy the weekend is here! &&&& next week is a short week!
I just love California.
Every time we go, I start making plans to move west permanently. && then I have a sharp turn back to reality when I start looking at housing options ($$ Ouch, that would hurt$$).
Several parts of California are on my bucket list. I’ve been dying to see Napa and Yosemite and San Fran. But, I’ve really never spend a significant amount of time in Los Angeles. We’ve always used LA as a jumping off point for a longer vacation like Hawaii or Australia. So, we combined some work and travel and spent 4 days in Los Angeles.

For the first part of our trip we stayed at the Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach. Highly, highly recommend. The Shade is a luxury boutique hotel about 20 minutes from downtown LA. It’s about two blocks from the beach which was perfect. We walked to the beach every morning. We stayed in one of the spa suites and the bath tub was NO JOKE y’all.
I’ve talked about this before, but I judge a hotel harshly on their bathroom. I just need a bathroom with a good amount of space.
The two restaurants we picked in Manhattan Beach were Nick’s & The Strand House.
Nick’s is more casual but has seriously delicious drinks. My favorites were the spicy poloma martini and the cucumber collins.
The Strand House has stunning beach front views. We ate brunch there both days we stayed in Manhattan beach… oops! lol Bottomless mimosas for the win!
We loved our time in California. Let me know if you have any questions! We are heading down to the beach for the weekend. Are you guys celebrating the 4th this weekend or next?

Happy Hump Day Babes!
Raleigh is rainy and dreary today which always makes me so unmotivated. Monday-est Wednesday evaaaaa.
But, we are heading to the beach this weekend and I can’t wait to be near the water. I love NC, but being close to two hours from the beach was a huge adjustment when I first moved here.
I love a good maxi dress in the summer. Why you ask?
- Flattering (AKA hides my food baby post dinner)
- Low Maintenance
- Can be Dressed Up or Down
- Time Efficient
My maxi is sold out, but I linked a ton of my favorites below.
Hope everyone is having the best week!
