Gold Palazzo Pants

PANTS: Zara │TOP: Forever 21 │SUNNIES: River Island (old) Similar Here │SHOES: Stuart Weitzman (old) Similar Here│ EARRINGS: Forever 21 │WATCH: Michele │BRACELETS: David Yurman

How is it already Thursday?

& why can’t every week be a short one? All the questions. It has been SO dreary and rainy in Raleigh this week and I am OVER it. Sitting here wondering if the sun is ever coming out again.

I’m hoping these pants will brighten up everyone’s week. I am in LOVE with them. Serious LOVE.

The entire time I wore them, I may or may not have been humming MC Hammer. They are super, super flattering. I love a good high waist and crop top.

I’ve also been wearing this earrings non-stop. They are so fun and summery.

Hoping you guys are having the best week!!

Best Raleigh Desserts

DRESS: Buffalo By David Bitton (old) Similar Here and Here │SHOES: Steve Madden sold out Similar Here │LIP COLOR: Mac

I love desserts.

I could skip french fries and pizza any day, just give me some chocolate. I am always on the hunt for good desserts, and I judge a restaurant harshly on their dessert selection.

Enter Hayes Barton Cafe, one of Raleigh’s hidden gems. The restaurant recently celebrated it’s 20th anniversary and is really known by locals as a Raleigh institution. The food is superb, but the desserts are even better. We head over whenever we are having a serious chocolate craving.

The restaurant itself is decorated in a 40’s theme with pictures of Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn. The dessert counter is something to see. Ordering a piece of cake at Hayes Barton will feed a small army so be prepared. They lovingly refer to their hefty slices as “slabs of cake”. You could just head to the dessert counter and order a piece to go.

Starters:

We started out the evening with mussels.

YUM.

Some other favorites are the crab dip and the oysters. Hayes Barton also has homemade bread at the table that is seriously mouth watering. They feature a different type of homemade bread every week. When we went, there was cinnamon sweet bread that I ate way, way too much of.

Dinner:

For dinner, I really haven’t had a bad entree. They have weekly specials that you can find on their Facebook page. I had the pot pie which was honestly hands down the best chicken pot pie I’ve ever had. We also had the shrimp and grits, which was one of the specials. The grits were to die for.

Desserts:

You really can’t go to Hayes Barton without having dessert. We tried the Red Velvet cake which was so good. They are known for their coconut cake which I’ve had and highly recommend. You can also order cakes for special occasions. This past Christmas we ordered a coconut cake and it was a major hit.

Hayes Barton is open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday and open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday. If you’re in the mood for some fantastic home style food or a huge slab of cake, head on over.

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you guys are having the best weekend. We had so much fun down at the beach!

I knew the second I saw this swimmie, I had to have it. I love buying at least one patriotic bathing suit every summer. It’s perfect for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.

Just as an FYI for all my long torso ladies – I sized up to make sure I had enough back coverage  🙂

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Looking so forward to a long weekend. I went from having zero plans to lots of plans. My parents are coming to NC, and I couldn’t be more excited. Love getting to spend the weekend with them!

I am so obsessed with these shorts y’all. I’ve worn them probably every weekend since I got them. They are beyond flattering and look adorable with basically any top I put with them.

Also, how cute are these sunnies? May or may not have scooped them up in 3 different colors. I get so many compliments when I wear them.

I’ve been getting a ton of messages about my workout routine. Message me or DM me if you’d want to see a workout routine post. Or about any type of posts you’d want me to do. I’m open to suggestions ;).

Cut Out Romper

ROMPER: Keepsake the Label │SUNNIES: Karen Walker │ SHOES: Stuart Weitzman (old) Similar Here and Here

We had the BEST weekend in New Orleans, y’all. I mean check out the view we had from our balcony! I think I literally gained 5 pounds from the sheer amount of beignets and hurricanes I consumed.

I’m going to do a complete post on all of my New Orleans favorites, but I wanted to get this romper up ASAP.

It’s so cute and the perfect mix of dressy casual. I know it’s long sleeved, but the cut outs kept me cool even in the 90+ degree weather this weekend.

Rompers can sometimes be challenging for me because I have a longer torso. But, this one fits pretty true to size (I’m wearing a small) without causing an all day wedgie – If you have a long torso I know you can relate.

I hope you guys have THE best week. I’m already ready for another long weekend 😉

Easy Weekend T-Shirt Dress

DRESS: Revolve  │SHOES: Marc Fisher │BAG: Celine │ SUNNIES: Karen Walker │WATCH: Michele│ BRACELETS:  David Yurman Here and Here

Happy Thursday loves! Today is my Friday and I am so looking forward to a long weekend.

We are heading to New Orleans tomorrow for a high school graduation and I can’t wait. My parent’s best friends moved to New Orleans when I was in middle school and we’ve been visiting ever since. Can’t wait to share some of my favorite New Orleans things with you –

think snow cones, and drive through daiquiris and Sazeracs and beignets!!!

Can you tell I’m a little excited?

Since today is my Friday, I wanted to share an easy weekend look.  I am a huge fan of any type of shirt dress. They are seriously so easy to dress up or down. & this one comes in the cutest color. Love that it’s not black or white.

AND the ruched sides make it beyond flattering! AND it’s under $75 bucks.

I always get a million compliments when I wear these wedges. They are ridiculously comfortable. Highly recommend. I own them in three colors now.

I hope you guys have the best weekend. Stay tuned for some New Orleans goodness.

Grand Canyon West in One Day

TOP: Nike │PANTS: LuLu Lemon │SHOES: Nike│SUNNIES: Ray Ban │BACKPACK: Vera Bradley

Happy Hump Day Friends!

I wanted to share a little bit about our one day Grand Canyon trip. I seriously did A TON of research beforehand. So many people said don’t do the grand canyon in one day and I’m with them with a caveat. If you’ve never seen Grand Canyon National Park, do not try to do it in one day. You’ll be super bummed and feel like you haven’t seen any of the park. But, if you’re like me and you’ve already seen Grand Canyon National Park, doing the west rim in one day was perfect and I highly recommend.

So let’s dive in. We rented a car in Las Vegas, but you don’t have to. There are tons of different companies that will take you from Vegas to the West Rim. The one I heard the most good things about was the Pink Adventure Tour.

We picked up our rental car bright and early and got on our way. The Vegas sign and Seven Magic Mountains are both on your way to the West Rim. You’ll also pass the Hoover Dam if you want to stop. It takes about 2.5 hours to get to the West Rim.

The West Rim of the Grand Canyon is owned and operated by the Hualapai tribe. When you enter the reservation, you must park and use the shuttle to get to the different look out spots.

SkyWalk

Sky Walk is one of the biggest advertised attractions of the West Rim. It does offer seriously breath taking 360 degree views of the West Rim. However, It costs extra $$$ to go stand on it AND you can’t take any of your own pictures. You have to pay for the pictures taken on the Sky Walk. We decided not to walk on the Sky Walk. & honestly, I didn’t regret it. You can stand to the right and left of the Sky Walk and the views are beautiful and we got some great pictures.

Guano Point

Guano Point was my favorite part of our West Rim visit. It’s definitely the best place to do some hiking. The views were just beautiful.

A few words of wisdom: We visited the first week of May and it was HOT. Like 95+ degrees hot. Wear comfortable work out gear and shoes. Bring water. Plan on staying for 3-4 hours to see the entire park and all of the lookout spots.

I hope this guide was helpful if you’re thinking about traveling from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon for the day!

Cutest OTS Dress

DRESS: Asos │SHOES: Marc Fisher │BAG: Celine │SUNNIES: Karen Walker│ WATCH: Michele │BRACELETS: David Yurman

Breaking news in Raleigh tonight!

Ryan Cabrera is in concert tonight. I almost feel like I would be doing myself a disservice by not going. Amirite or amirite?

Don’t mind me while I sing on the way down for the rest of the day. Sorry, not sorry coworkers 😉

How adorable is this dress ya’ll. The color is perfection and it’s a great go to summer dress. It was HOT, HOT in Raleigh this weekend. Like 95+ degrees. I wore this little number to dinner Friday night and it kept me nice and cool and cute.

It’s also $40. Love a good affordable summer staple.

Hope you guys have the best week! Stay tuned for some more cute affordable summer dresses this week!
